Tricks to keeping your arrangements FRESH LONGER

I’ve done some research and found out some easy tricks on “at home remadies” on keeping your fresh flower arrangements lasting longer and stronger!! ***First is Aspirin:: It’s been studied and shown that it keeps roses and fresh cut flowers living longer. What you need to do is put the asprin somewhere it can be crushed up, such as a baggy and add water to it before you put it in the arrangement. DO NOT just drop an asprin into a vase, it will not work the same. **The next one I studied was bleach Although I have not tried this personally, I did a lot of research on if you add about 1/4 tsp of bleach per quart of water in your vase. What bleach does, is helps to keep yucky bacteria from growing in your vase. Don’t forget to change out your water every few days and repeat. ***I also read that Hair Spray fresh cut flowers healthy and longer lasting! The same way hair spray can keep your hair looking better longer spray can keep your cut flowers last looking longer! Stay back from the bouquet as you spray and spray ONLY on the backsides of the leaves and petals of the flowers. ****Sugar is also a good way to preserve your fresh cut flowers Take 3 tbsp of sugar and dissolve in a small amount of white vinegar for every quart of room temperature water. When you fill the vase, make sure the cut stems are covered by 3-4 inches (7-10 centimeters) of the prepared water. The sugar helps keep the vitamins in the fresh cut flowers and the white vinegar (like bleach) helps with keeping bacteria from growing.
